7-days holiday, 5-days cycling tours

We offer transfer from the Ohrid Airport on arrival and departure day, accommodation in nice apartments in Ohrid region and guided bike tours for 5 days. The accomodation includes breakfast. On your bike tours you have lunch packets included. Late afternoon hours are reserved for you to rest on the Lakeshore and enjoy dinner in some of the local restaurants according to your preference. Depending on the arrival time on the arrival day we offer sightseeing of the Old town of Ohrid, where we will walk around the narrow streets or make a boat trip. We will also admire the view of the lake and explore the cultural sites.

Two days of the cycling tour include trip around the Ohrid Lake and visiting Albanian town of Pogradec where you spend the night (you have to take your passport and some clothes for the next day).

Day 1 Debarca region

Visiting authentic Macedonian villages: Botun, Zlesti, Leshani, Brezhani, Velmej and the architecture of traditional Macedonian houses of Debarca region, famous for anti fashist movement. Length: 45km, ascending: 300m, approx. time: 4 hours.

Day 2 Vevchani Springs

Visiting famous Macedonian village of Vevchani located in the JABLANICA mountain 14 km from the town of Struga. You will see authentic Macedonian houses. You will take a short walk where you will see the springs located at the bottom of the mountain. Return is on the asphalt lakeside road with beautiful nature all the way through. Length: 56km, ascending: 250m, approx. time: 5-6 hours.

Day 3 Skrebatno village

Skrebatno is a small mountain village located at the North side of Ohrid region. You will enjoy the beautiful nature, old churches, springs of cold fresh water. There is a beautiful picnic place.
On the way we will also visit the Volcano in Kosel.
Length: 33km, ascending: 300m, approx. time: 4 hours

Day 4 Trip around the Lake (part 1)

We start on the way to Struga continuing to the old fisherman's village of Radozda. We will pass the border on Kjafasan continue to the Albanian side of the Lake. We go down to the Albanian village of Lin and have a short coffee break. Then we go on to visit the town of Pogradec to spend the night there.
Length: 60km, ascending: 700m, approx. time: 5-6 hours

Day 5 Trip around the Lake (part 2)

After Pogradec we pass through the Albanian village Tushemishte, we will cross the border and return to Macedonian territory. We will go down to visit the complex of churches St. Naum Monastery and also the springs of the river Drim. We will ride throughout the National Park Galichica on the asphalt road and have lunch break at the small fisherman's village of Peshtani. After lunch we will cycle the remaining 12 kilometers of the mainly flat road to Ohrid. Length: 48 km, ascending: 600m, approx.time: 5-6 hours.

We can organize transfer from Skopje, Tirana or Prishtine airports but this is not included in the price.

Price includes: 6 nights in apartments or guest houses in rooms with ensuite facilities incl.breakfast. English- speaking guide, bike rental, bike equipment (helmet, backpack, locker), technical support of the bikes.

The price does not include: dinners, travel insurance, entrance fees, tips, boat trip, airport transfer from and to Skopje, Prishtine and Tirana airports.

Price 890 EUR per person. Minimum number of people 4, maximum number of people 10.

Good to know:

- Bikes: hardtail mountain bike or hybrid bike
- Roads: we use mainly village asphalt roads with little traffic, road conditions are relatively good with some exceptions (bumpy sections, potholes, rough asphalt). Short off road sections can be added.
- Guide: The guide often checks if everything is OK with the group, waiting by crossroads, accompanying them for lunch packet stops and giving them talks by the most interesting sites en-route.

We recommend trip in the period: April – November

Necessary equipment: All riders must wear a helmet at all times riding. It is optional for riders to bring their own helmets or rent one of ours. Cycling gloves, breathable clothes (different ones for changing each day), waterproof gear, cycling shoes/trainers, swimming suit, sunscreen lotion; sunglasses with UV protection.
